Removing the conficker virus?

i've figured out that i have the conficker virus after realizing that i can't access mcafee or microsoft websites. i've already disabled autorun on my computer, but i need to know how to remove it. i was able to download the patch from a different computer and transfer it to the infected one. i downloaded stinger, but everytime it launches it just says "stinger may be infected, cannot continue". also, the "conficker detection tool" and "mcafee rootkit detective" dont pick up anything. i don't have any antivirus right now, i had to do a system recovery because of this stupid virus and lost all my applications including mcafee. i do have malwarebytes anti-malware and have run it constantly, along with craptastic windows firewall. does anyone know a program that works thats not on the mcafee or microsoft website? or any registry keys that need to be looked at or what
