I embedded a sound clip into a PowerPoint presentation and I want to remove it but I can't find the sound icon?

I dragged the icon off the side of the first slide and it seems to have disappeared. Help please. Also, the presentation is very jerky (the slides are supposed to fade in but they 'jerk' in). Thanks. Claire
