Any good places to visit on a family vacation in New England....?

my dad my sister, 17, and me, 14 are going on a family vacation and my dad wants to drive and we are planning on going to washington DC (10 hour drive for me) but i dont think ill have that much fun looking at monuments or meeting the president....any other fun places around Maryland, New York. Pennsilvana, or New Jersey?
