Were you ever afraid of anything strange when you were a kid?

I was afraid of midgets and albinos when I was a child. I didn't understand then. They always played creepy roles in movies, so that was all I knew. I didn't realize until I was a teenager that albinism and dwarfism were caused by genetics. I was terrified of Australians, too. The only Australians I was familiar with were in the Mad Max movies. The midget in that movie frightened the daylights out of me. Is there anything usual that ever creeped you out as a youngster?
