Just like some clarification on this networking problem?

I mentioned in a few previous questions that I was experience intensely slow broadband speed. After calling my ISP lots of times, having my line boosted and stabilised & configuring my routers settings (belkin 54mbps modem/router) I had recently delivered, a new bt home hub 3.0, after installing yesterday I have now gone from 128kbps to 13657 Kbps (download speeds) My internal wiring seems not to be at fault here so could this problem of been my old belkin router?
