Final Fantasy 12?!?!?

ok after u beat the Guardian Statue at Giruvegan after i dunn that i went all the way to the Giruvegan Haalmikah Water step where the Bullwark Hemera gate is and ive dunn open it now im stuck in the room and i cant go forward. like i dont know where to go. but there is one gate in there but it wont let me open it how do i open the gate or get ped it? please help!?!? ty for the help.
